APS Data Blog: Milestones School Level Results and Poverty

APS Data Blog: Milestones School Level Results and Poverty: The graph above shows the relationship between 2015 Milestones results and poverty and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) status in Atlanta Public School district.

Quick Analysis

Based on the analysis provided by APS, you'll see that the data can be broken down for elementary and middle schools, and includes data for Atlanta's charter school populations. In addition to APS's findings, you can see that many traditional school are out-performing their "expected" test score performance (average, from regression line) given their "challenges" (defined therein by two indicators: (1) free and reduced lunch, (2) and limited language proficiency). The same is true for charter schools (however, notably, some charters -- 8 of 11 for elementary, 5 of 11 for middle -- fall below expected performance levels). The schools performing above expected levels are located throughout the district, including the southern parts of APS.
